Question The Cannon 550D... what does it do???

At the moment this looks like the camera that we want.. but i dont think it has the ONE requirement I want......the airbrush feature!!!!

Its perfect for Ad, he wants it bad, and Id love doing faster shots of the kids..... but mum went to a wedding where someones camera had the airbrush, or "soft" feature, and sent her some photos... they are AMAZING!!!!!

Really sharp and clear, but she looks gorgeous, like she had all her makeup profesionally done. It didnt fade out her face, you could see wrinkles and such, but her skin just looked , well, airbrushed!!

And I wanna look like that too!!

So does this camera have a "beauty" feature???

Perhaps there was a filter on the lens to create the airbrushed affect???

I find processing after taking the photo does the same trick, I've been playing with Picasa and Picnik today. Both of which has the soft focus affect.

You can't go wrong with a 550D, I especially like the continuous shoot abilities, great for children and animals.

    Happy Shopping

If you look up airbrush feature for cameras, you can find some, but Im not sure which one she had... gonna get mum to ask, cause hers didnt make the photo look out of fucus....

Yes I've seen what you are talking of PB.... It's usually in the point & shoot varieties not an SLR because with the 550 you'd do that with editing...

    Oh...
Thanks Inanna, I thought that might be the case.... I dont want to bother with editing, I wanna just print them.
I might let Ad get the Cannon, and Ill get the cheapest I can find with the airbrush feature....

You can put it on a setting called smooth skin tones and it works beautifully on, funnily enough, smoothing skin tones! It really is a fantabulous camera Jodie you would love it. As for editing I have a Mac and when I upload I have a quick skim though the photos I have uploaded and just use iPhoto to tweak exposure or anything else. Takes no time at all.

    oooh, thanks hon!!!

I might let Ad gets his first, and if its simular with the airbrush one, I wont need a little one for me!!!
So its a feature, not a seperate lens? Ad is researching which lens's to get... he done photography years ago with SLR, so now whants to go "digital"...

Definitely a feature on the camera babe, as for lenses there is another thread floating around but we got the twins lens kit so we have the 18-55, the 18-200 and we bought a 50mm macro lens which is great for close up portraits of the kids!!
