    Leesa - I need reassurance!!

    Hello Gorgeous Leesa!

Please tell me that I am ok to keep being active & going hard in Combat & circuit classes. Tell me that getting my heart rate up & sweating is not going to cause me to lose my baby or give it brain damage...please! I *know* that it wont because I was very fit to begin with & I'm trying to maintain my fitness (ok, so I know I can't go as hard) but I want to to still be able to push.

Just need a bit of reassurance please Lees, and maybe a hug!

    Thanks! Love Winter xox

So so so sorry gorgeous - when you posted was the week where its hectic so I wasn't online much!!

Yup, you continue doing whatever it is you've been doing prior to becoming pg. The only time I want you to tone it down or back off a bit is if you were to start feeling dizzy, ill or anything out of the ordinary. They've removed any peak heart rate a pg lady should remain under years ago - so don't worry about tracking that or setting alarms on a heart rate monitor.

Continue with the ab work and laying on your back until the 16 wk mark when unless your GP / OB / pg carer advises you otherwise - 16wks is the general cut off for laying on your back whilst pg.

You won't cause bubs any brain damage or injury - never seen a report that has even remotely pin pointed or tried to blame exercise for anything bad that happens to bubs in utero - only good things

STILL loving your dedication to health and fitness hun!

Good on you Winter! I was wondering about you and your running, if you'd put it on hold.

Running is kinda on hold Eluned, just due to lack of time at the moment. I'm HANGING OUT!!! for school holidays to be over so that DD can go back to occasional care one day a week & that will be my day for running. I did 5km on the treadmill the other day but it was up & down speed wise and quite a few walks in between runs...horrible how quickly we loose fitness when we stop pushing BUT on the other hand, we must improve at the same rate so that thought keeps me going for getting back into it properly after bubs arrives.

My next long-term fitness goal is to do a marathon. I just can't decide when to try for. Bubs is due first week of August and the first year is probably going to be a bit tough to get any really decent training in so maybe 2013 is my year. Want to join me??

Absolutely I'll join you 2013...should give me plenty of time. Most I've done is 5km, can't seem to get past that. Goal this year is to do the 15km Pancake Run

Excellent Eluned!! Here is a link to the WA Marathon club. http://www.wamc.org.au/programme/WAM...rogrammeFB.pdf
I see Pancake Run is in August but there are lots of runs leading up to it to get some practice in. Heaps of 5km & 10km runs to use as training for your main event!

Can't wait for 2013 - we'll just have to decide which one we're going to do. Yippee!
