Feeling like a bad mummy.....

Just had one of those days. DDs top tooth is through now, I think it's been bothering her. DH and I have been a bit down in the dumps because of the floods - we haven't directly been affected but we have a few friends who have lost everything and we're stuck here because the roads are closed and can't do anything just now. I think she's picking up the vibes.

Tonight she showed me sleepy signs for 2 hours but wouldn't sleep - she had an almighty crash and then fell asleep on boobie. Before that though, she grabbed my nipple really hard, I jumped and yelled as it was so sore and she screamed her wee head off. She grizzled, cried and didn't know if she wanted me or DH. Every time I lay her down she'd arch her back and scream until she was picked up again.

Why won't she just go to sleep? It seems to be a battle with her again. Last week we had 5 nights in a row where we got her down at 7pm ish and she went over really well with no fuss. Last night and tonight it's been a nightmare. Taking hours for her to just go to sleep. We're both feeling frazzled and frustrated.

We have the SAME bedtime routine every night and have done for months. And just when we feel we're getting somewhere, she goes and changes things. She's consistently inconsistent.

Just needed to vent We're having a tough time just now.

Consistently inconsistent. I have one of those! I wrote this thread in the wee hours of last night babe. No advice, just a friendly pat on the back and know I understand completely.

I wish I had the answers for you, I really do You guys are going through so much at the moment with the uncertainty of the floods, she'll be feeling that things aren't all as per normal. And that's not being a bad mummy or a bad parent, that's being a real person totally understandable at the moment!

It probably won't help but DD has hurt me during feeds lately and I have reacted quite loudly (how I'm meant to stay calm is beyond me when my nipple is being razored between 4 very sharp teeth) and given her a scare leading her to cry, and I feel awful about it too. It's just the immediate reaction I have to it, no matter how hard I try.

I hope tomorrow is a better day for you all.
