We found two white tails in the house this morning. We don't normally have spider issues. I know they're just escaping the weather but NOT IN MY HOUSE!
I don't know MG, we just surface spray, and occasionally the Man will let of a bug bomb or two in the roof (and I'll escape to my Mums for the weekend with the kids). But as a hint, if you ever see dismembered daddy long leg spiders in your house, then its a safe bet that you have white tails too.
White tails are travelers, they don't web in your house. They will come in for food (daddy long legs) so try and remove their food therefore stop their appearances.
If you see a drop in daddy long legs white tails are about!
Get a professional pest control company to come out and spray your house. We did just externally last time and it worked a treat. It's very safe (safer than surface sprays according to the experts), you don't even have to leave the house. That said, I took DD out for the afternoon. It didn't smell or anything but the amount of dead spiders laying around afterwards was scary!! We'd only finished building the house a year earlier!!
My mum was bitten by a whitetail when we were kids. She didn't feel a thing but jeez it made a nasty mess on the back of her knee. It eventually cleared up thanks to lots of vitamins. She was lucky, the wound was foul!
I posted a thread a while back on seeing a huge spider in the house and freaking out over it even more when I couldn't find where it went I think Alan posted that you can mix up a lemon spray and spray that around the edges of your door and windows to keep spiders out.
