Our all oven has just died, which is a blessing in disguise, because we have never been particularly happy with it - it cooks very unevenly. My wife does lovely baking, and we'd like to get her a good quality oven that she can cook with the girls with, but we have no idea about brands. Our current oven is a Linea, which we had never heard of, but it was the only brand the applicance place offered when we fitted out the house so we just went with it. What should we get this time? It doesn't have to do anything fancy, but it needs to cook quickly and evenly.
We have a Westinghouse Freestyle. It's great. Does the job and is a good size. It's an electric multifunction separate grill oven. Model No. 698. We also got self cleaning plates with it which are fantastic.
One of the best functions I like on this oven is that I can put a roast or whatever I have planned for that night in before I go out or if I am busy with kids and so on, and set the timer on the oven to come on at a certain time and it will also turn itself off.
This has been so convenient with kids, as usually the time you want to put something in the Oven for dinner is around their dinner, bath and bed time. This way, I put it in a couple of hours before and it takes care of itself!
Westinghouse have a huge range of ovens. Your best bet would be to go to a Harvey Norman or Good Guys and check out their displays and decide what you want in an oven.
When we built we went with a Westinghouse as well, never had any troubles with it. Don't remember what model though sorry and it was so long ago I'm sure their range has changed but while we had it it worked perfectly!
