Just a bit of a vent really. We have a 12 month lease on apartment here in Qingdao, China - but have just been advised that the landlords son is moving back to Qingdao after completing his studies in Brisbane & wants OUR apartment back!!! & soon!!! Never mind we still have 8 months to go on this apartment & have just got it how we like it or that this apartment is one of TWENTY that's right, 20, apartments that his family owns.
Grrrr......
Apparently the contract means pretty much zilch as well........
So now it looks like I might be apartment hunting in the next week or so.
It's just so frustrating!!! I'm sure the 'perfect' apartment is just waiting for us to find it, but I was just starting to feel settled & homely & now it's going to be taken away from us. Plus we are in a perfect location here - close to the kids school, close to all the shopping, right next door to the most amazing mall in Qingdao.
Anyway, no need to reply, just needed to get it off my chest & I knew if I told my parents they would have a freak out. lol.

After we first sold our house and were renting again the RE said the owner felt more comfortable giving us a 6month lease to see how things went because it was so long since we rented...ok we thought and asked if we would be able to resign for something longer at the end of that as long as everyone is happy "of course, yep" etc.....6months later the owner wanted to move back in a couple of weeks before Christmas!
Grrr I hate that!!! lol. It's playing with people's lives. Did you end up finding another rental in time?
Oh well, I keep on thinking that it's because this apartment isn't perfect. One of the things my girls are struggling with is not having an outdoor area to play on now that we are living in an apartment & there is an apartment complex where there are HEAPS of expats and it has a playground there............ so I'm thinking that I need to find a great apartment, at the right price, in that complex! lol
