    Weight/Growth between 2, 3 and 4

I'm just trying to find out what sort of growth (height and weight) is "normal" (I am aware all kids grow differently etc) for between 2, 3 and 4 years.

How much did your child weigh at 2, 3 and then at 4 years old?

    Thanks x

Hmm from memory, DS weighed the same as DD1 at 2, so that would have been like 12/13kg? Then he took a long time to get to 15kg, so I would say he was about that when he was 3, and now he's just turned 4 and he's 17kg. So he gains about 2kg a year on average.

    Thanks!

So a 1-2kg over a year would be about "normal" then?

I would think so Sal, it is here anyhow.
DD is tall, thin, and has DH's genes in that regard. (lucky girl missed the short and stumpy! lol)

    lol, that's cool then

Brendan has gained 3.9kg since 2yrs old and has grown a whopping 18cms! He hasn't got much chance of being short.

    2yrs he was 11.10kg & 86cms, 3yrs he was 12kg & 95cms and today (a month off four) he is 14kg (fully dressed) & 104cms tall.

He just seemed to be a bit skinny, but I guess the height to weight ratio would make him appear skinny lol

His height sounds right - DS is 106.5cm.
    He sounds fine to me!

    Yep it definitely would.
Looking at my DD you've never even know how heavy she is, but she went from 15kg and just a touch under 106cm at 2 to 20kg and 120cm at 4. You can see her ribs and spine, but she eats as much as me and never stops moving lol.

Wow 120cm at 4! Yeah taller kids do look thinner. DD1 is 112cm and 17kg and she is slim and can look skinny at times. DD2 is much more compact although I am betting that shw will have gained less than 1kg from 1y - 2y. She was 11.2 at 1, 11.6 at 18m and I'm sure is is only just tipping 12kg now although she has rolls of chubba

I think a 1-2 kg gain a year sounds fine.

All my Ds's have had a plateau in weight and height after 18mths-2 years old.

Ds1 is 4.5 years old and weighs 17kg; at 2 years old he weighed around 14-15kg so thats only 2-3kg in 2 years. His height increased a bit more than his weight from about 87cm at 2 years old to 110cm at 4 years old, but still only about 15-20cm in 2 years.

He's quite a tall and skinny thing with no baby chub left. People often mistake him for an older kid or assume he doesnt eat (and he does - ALOT!). Considering my Dh is 6ft tall and skinny Im not surprised Ds1 is like that.
