My DS just had his 8 weeks check and weight was 7600gms!! His length is 56cm (Also would like to know if the length is measured head to heel or head to toe??) The doctor didn't seem concerned in any way but the nurse looked a bit puzzled when I told her how old he was. Birth weight was 3826gms. He doesn't look HUGE but chubby..

Do you have a 'blue book' that you were given when DS was born? (or is that a NSW thing) That will give you the average weights, lengths etc. Looking at my book here, the average 8 week old baby boy is about 5200g length is 56cm. Im pretty sure the length is head to heel, as if they were standing flat footed (if upright).
Honestly hun, babies all grow so differently and just because thats the average it means that 50% of babes that age are bigger! He may have just had a big weight gain now and may slow down until the next appointment. I wouldnt be worried at all, looks to me like hes a healthy little man, dont stress

Because you asked my DS is 3 days younger than yours and he was weighed yesterday and is 5340g and 59cm but he was smaller than your DS when he was born.
Just remember that every baby is different!!!
