Okay, so getting a Filling at 34 + wks is not such a great idea...

After being in lots of pain for 2 weeks now waiting to get into my Dentist for a filling that needed doing urgently, I only ended up with a temporary one (although it should see me through for a few month).

I was doing fine, needles in gum didn't hurt etc etc, and then as soon as they started drilling, it was all bad. They layed me back to0 far in the chair, and apparantly I went as white as a sheet. I started seeing stars, was sooo dizzy, and could'n't breathe properly, and then got so nauseous I nearly vomited mid-filling. They were so lovely to me though, and kept sitting me up every two minutes, and plastering my face with wet paper towels, because I think I looked a little on the sick side
I think laying back so far made my blood pressure drop too low or something.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Anyway, at least it should stop the pain for a few months anyway, until I can get it done properly.

No but my dentist warned me it could, so I had to have a temporary filling jic and have the root canal done once dd was born.

Skybie - They should add the Dentist's chair in those pregnancy books when it says not to lay on your back! Now I know why they always say that, it just didn't occur to me beforehand, and I had another filling just two weeks ago, and it was so good I almost enjoyed the experience!

Black Rose- Same here, will prob need a root canal or get it pulled now as I couldn't lay long enough for them to drill all the decay out.

That happened to me at the hair dresser when I was heavily pregnant. Laying getting my hair washed I almost passed out!
