I was just wondering if anyone has one of these an do they really work on helping you loose weight and get fit???

Plus is the exercise easy, like not too vigorous??

Also would you reccommend in buying one, i just dont want to waste my money if they dont work

    TIA much appreciated!

I've got one but DH won't let me leave it out (so I remember to get on it) as DS's toys are in front of the TV. But the exercises are easy to master (at least the game-type ones). the times I've gotten on it I've felt good doing them (and felt like I've done a workout after it). From memory it's won't help build strength (ie weight training) but will help with general fitness level. I remember asking about them last year when I was looking at buying one.

i have just gotten one and i have found it really good- i am a bit the same as leckert and i kind of "forget" to use it every day coz the board thing is away and DS's toys are usually all over the floor in front of the telly, so its like an ordeal to get it all out- but worth it when i do!! I love the boxing and the yoga and stretches!!

I have got some weight things on laybuy which will help with muscel tone in my arms during the running excercises. Its best advantage is that it tracks your weight gain and skill level - so you can really see if you have made progress!!!

    Hope that helps!

Sorry to hijak your post.....but I have been wondering about these too and have a quick question......do you have to be very far away from the TV cos I have a pretty skinny lounge room and was worried the sensor thingy would work properly if that makes sense???

I have Wii Fit Plus but I much prefer the EA sports Active. It's a personal trainer set up and you get a resistance band to do arm lifts and things. I think I prefer it as it is more like going to the gym rather than choosing which exercised to do on the Wii Fit. I lost about 5kg when I was dedicated and you work out 2 days in a row and then have a rest day but you pick up where you left off if you have a few more rest days (hehehehe). I do the 30 day challenge and it works out the whole body. You can choose to use the balance board or not but I always choose not so I don't know what exercises would be different. They have little videos at the beginning of the exercise to show you how to do it properly (with a real person rather than character). I really need to get back into it as my pants are a little snug again. If you lived near me I would have you over for a trial.

Having said all that, I like the Wii Fit because you can focus on working particular areas or do little challenges and repeat it if you want. I love hula hoop, marching band and step. It's a bit more cutesy in that way although the yoga and muscle exercises are pretty challenging.

Helen - our loungeroom is pretty tiny and I am about 2/3m away from the TV and have noticed that sometimes there is a lag in response but mostly it is pretty good.

I have one, got it as a birthday gift when I was 7 months pregnant so havent used it without the belly out front yet. But I have to say I really like it. I like that I can get some exercise in while DS takes a nap during the day, or at night when he has gone to sleep. Its great that it count up how much time you have spent in total, and I find that really motivational. I was fairly active before pregnancy, and I find several of the exercise def give me a workout. I'm new to yoga though and find it really easy to learn from.

Maybe instead of buying one, go to your local blockbuster and hire one out first and see if it will work for you. My mum got it for me, and she's had a few goes but doesnt really like it, so each to their own.

Sorry, didn't see this thread until the morning.
I have one too and really like it, but if you're looking to improve fitness you really need to do it with something else, like an extra to your fitness routine IMO. EA sports active is excellent and uses the board too.
I got the step height increaser for Chrissy and man step works sooo much better

I find it easy and yes you willget fit IF you use it every day.. I felt better and fitter and lost weight.. but then I had a visitor here and stopped doing it.. and now summer is here I haven't had the motivation..

But I recommend getting it and doing it.. The steps are great and kung fu (on wii fit not the plus one) and My dh loves the yoga
