anyone had experiences with both? which is better?
I would love to try slings before I buy them but our local baby shops only sell a couple of types and I already have bought those types - no good! So its hard to know what sling to buy when you can only see it online..
The ergo? is that any good? Bubs is getting heavier and heavier in my ryco sling and its always hurt my back from day one as not a great design..
I have a Close, Ergo, HAB and clearly a sling addiction.
Close over hugabub without doubt. It's just so bloody easy! Packs up super simply, easy to takeout and about.
The Ergo is also brilliant. DD doesn't settle as quickly in the Ergo, but it's a lot comfier on a hot summer day.
I had the hug-a-bub with my first. Because it is strechy material, I found too many wriggles and it had to be adjusted. Also in summer (she is a feb baby) it was tooooo hot. But i love it's washability and simplicity.
When I was pregnant with number two, the ergo hit the market. I hot me one of those quick smart! Best investment EVER!
I can carry my 4 year old in it very comfortable (if I have to) she is 15.5 kgs. It is good up to 18 kgs.
My 18 mths old regularly rides on my back in it. and compared to the hugabub - sooo much better.
Since i got mine, new models have come out, including a lighter weight one, which is good in summer.
You can get them through Mother's Direct (discount if ABA member)
I absolutely love my Ergo!! It's awesome from about 4mths onwards when they get too heavy for the HAB or CC.
I used the HAB and a peanut type sling for DD when she was very little from birth up until about 11 weeks but then found she got too heavy and the HAB was sooooo hot in summer being a summer baby!! I sold my HAB.
I am looking at getting a CC for this baby as he/she will be a winter babe
My bubs is now 8 weeks and just over 5 kilos (I think). Starting to get lower back pain now from carrying him in the ryco..
would the ergo be suitable from now, or better to go the close carrier?
