Transfer of a little "frostie" - from WA to the East Coast

Is it possible?? We moved back East and have one little frostie in Hollywood IVF clinic (WA). I have called the clinic but am waiting for one of the lab assistants to call me back. Has anyone done this?

Hi! I don't see why they couldn't. It wouldn't be any different to transferring from the southern states to the northern ones. The flight is longer but I'm sure they could get a transport container for it. They transfer embryos between countries so I'm sure they can do it from WA to the east coast. Good luck

Yes, your clinic should be able to organise it for you. Have you been to a clinic at that end yet?

    Thanks for that!

I got a call from my clinic yesterday afternoon. Their sister-clinic is in Canberra which is great. She's sending me the consent forms for transport. Now to weigh things up: frozen emby transfer in WA is cheaper than ACT; would like to use the same doctor as last time; cost of flights would most likely be the same as the cost of emby transport......... decisions, decisions, decisions!!!

    Good luck with the decision.

Can you fly back to WA on your own (leave DH behind), do an ET, then you can tell everyone you got pregnant the weekend you were away

I thought about that (hehehe!!!) Yeh, got pregnant on a weekend away from the husband and kids!!!

The lab assistant I spoke to yesterday said I could start treatment here (not that I know what you need to do but that's another thread.....) then fly to the west for the transfer and do any follow-up back here.

Yes, they will need to do the usual stuff. Depends if you are doing a natural thaw or an assisted one. Either way there is still a few things to be done befrore the transfer.
