Help! 2.5yr old lost the plot!

Not sure if anyone can help or offer any advice, but my 2.5year old son has turned into a monster. He has started saying the "F" word non stop and throwing the most amazing tantrums. The swearing is to the point where I'm afraid to leave the house in fear of the dirty looks I get. We have tried smacking, time out, and ignoring it (that just made him swear more) and I honestly am at a loss as to know what to do. I'm sick of it and it's not like my husband and I swear so I don't know where he is picking up on it from. He's usually such a lovely boy and lately, I don't know him. He's short tempered, aggressive and just nasty. I'm 13 weeks pregnant with number 2 and thought maybe that was it but I'm not showing at all and he's not really aware of it yet. What to do??? I feel hopeless.

I don't have any advice but I can sure sympathise. My DS is 19 months old and has turned into a little brat in the last week or two. I am also at my wits end and am really not enjoying him much. I'm also pregnant so I feel your pain!

DD is super bratty and she knew I was pregnant before I did. They KNOW! I'm crossing my fingers it'll pass soon for you. DD seems to be calming down a tad (she was full blown tantrums and throwing herself on the ground) now so I'm hoping it's sort of passed. Hopefully it's just a massive learning period or a phase hun

Have you looked at his diet? Dd1 was getting feral and we finally worked out food acid 330 was the trigger for her. It's in a lot of foods including ones you might think are healthy.

WOW 330 is in about everything Black rose! That'd be TOUGH to cut out!

Thanks for reminding me about diet too. DD's trigger is 282 which is found in most bread or bread products. It's mightysoft bread or Brumby's all the way for us. SHe was a little DEMON prior to us removing that from her diet! I really didn't know where my child had gone on days where she'd just had plain bread and butter for lunch! Maybe google the failsafe diet for kids. It listrs all of the additives and foods to avoid. That can be a basic starting point! DD is fine with tomato and broccoli (no no list) but I tested it thoroughly first!

I have to spend a lot of time looking at labels but we are all eating better for it. It took a lot of trial and error to confirm at first I thought it was the colouring.

Thanks so much for your replies guys. Makes me feel less alone knowing that other people's tots are being a little crazy. The heatwave isn't helping and the poor thing got a tummy bug yesterday so he's completely under the weather. Friends said being pregnant second time around was harder (and third, fourth etc) and it sure is!!!
