I'd give yourself time and take those few extra days off.
All the best!
Im booked in for a lap next Tuesday the 8th and I was going to go back to work on Friday the 11th. But someone said today that it should be at least 5 days off work.
Im a beauty therapist so pretty much everything I do involves standing and bending at the waist.
Do you think i'd be right to go back on the Friday or should I just wait until the following week?
I'd give yourself time and take those few extra days off.
All the best!
I had a lap and hysteroscopy and went to work the next dayI worked in a pharmacy so was on my feet, lifting, reaching, bending etc..I wouldnt do it again! taking 3-5 days sounds reasonable to me.

I took about 5 days, and was pretty ok going back after that long.. mind you I have a cooshy office job that involves sitting down all dayMaybe take the extra time considering you'll be bending etc?

I had two weeks off work after my laparoscopy/hysteroscopy but they ended up finding severe endo so surgery turned out longer than expected.
I'd work on the 5 days and then see how you go after that. I went back to work 3 days after my first one, but it was probably a bit too soon even though I was just sitting at a desk. After my second one I was sore for a good two weeks afterwards and couldn't bend over till the end of the 3rd week.
I had mine on the Tuesday and was back on the Friday. I sat at a desk all day and it wasn't too bad. With your job I would definitely give yourself longer.
I had 5 days off with my lap too. 7 days including the weekend rest, but clothes were oncomfortable around the belly because the dissovable stitches hadn't healed or dissolvedand I had a desk job. Like Trill said - take the 5 days and see how you go.
Good Luck!
2 -3 days off is all I have ever had and I have been okay to go back to work.
Hmmmm... general consensus seems to be 5 days? Im self-employed so the reason im trying to work it out is so that i can reschedule my clients from the Friday and Saturday if need be. That would mean i'd be back at work the following Tuesday which seems like it would be ample time?
It should be enough. Just make sure that when you get home that you rest and lay down for the first day or two and give yourself time to heal before trying to do too much.
I agree Friday is too soon, I took a week off, you are very sore afterwards in the tummy muscles.
