Red face Any tips to help with FET success?

Just wondering if anyone has any tips for FET ?

(please redirect me to a thread if this is covered somewhere else)

I am trying to eat healthy, am alcohol-free and reverting back to decaf tea. I think I read not to lift anything over 10 pounds? Appreciate any tips - anticipating transfer in just over a week. I don't know if I will get an opportunity to do accupuncture before or after transfer as we have to travel about 90 mins.

    Thanks, WTH

I never had any specific things, but I found my state of mind helped. On the FETs (and Fresh tranfers as well) where I wrapped myself up in cotton wool, obsessed and made deals with the devil, they were failures. The two transfers where I have done everything as normal and relaxed about it were when I got my BFPs. But I think the things you are doing certainly can't hurt!

    Good luck with your transfer!

Hi I just had an FET yesterday, I am taking annual leave next week cos I'm due to do a nightshift ( my acupuncturist has banned nightshift during a tww lol) and my boss is understanding too. I'm just taking it easy, for the next few days then will be back to normal. Trying to think positive, but Im, sure I'll be freaking out next week!!

Good luck to you, I'm sure people do a variety of things and still get UTD, but last time I had a bioch pregnancy and blame the nightduty I did just when I got my bfp- so you want to make sure you feel comfortable with what you did/didn't do.

Wishing you a sticky bub babe-

Saffy - Good luck with the 2WW - I hope you are having a very relaxing week (but keeping yourself busy enough so as not to go stir crazy).

WTH: Both my successes were from FET's and in both instances I went into it trying to be as relaxed as possible but I never did anything different or "special". I tried to carry on as normal and live my life as I generally would. With this current pregnancy after the FET I really didn't have much chance to put my feet up anyway as I had (and still do) a baby/toddler to chase after.

Good luck and I hope your little frosty is a sticky bubba for you.

Hi KellyD - I remember you from when you were TTC Tara. Congratulations on your twin pregnancy!

I noticed from your address that you are in country VIC. Did you have far to travel for your transfer and did you travel straight after? I am trying to figure out whether to stay the night in Sydney or not...

    Thanks

We only live 30 minutes from Ballarat and my clinic is there so not much travelling involved.

It is up to you if you wanted to stay in Syd after your transfer. Will you have your other children with you? because if not then I would stay over and have an evening to yourself as those are such rare things and it might be a good chance for you to put your feet up before you have to return to full on mummy mode. If I had the option to some me time I so would take it

Kelly D - I would have the kids with me, so an overnight stay would not be a break. It's only a 80 or 90 minute drive - nothing major. With my two previous fresh transfers, the one that worked was the one where I stayed overnight. I have wondered if the drive affected implantation on the failed attempt (probably a big jump to that conclusion)? Looking at some US IVF websites, they seem to recommend not travelling...

Can understand your wanting some "me" time - you are going to have your hands full from May onwards
