    Freaking out a little....

OK so I foudn a very small lump in my right boob about 4 weeks ago (about the size of a pea). I didnt really think anything of it as it was around the time of my period and I have large breasts so they are normally quite lumpy anyway.

Fast forward to last night and I had a aching pain in my boob. I went and hopped in the shower and while I was standing there I pressed on my boob and the pain got worse and shot straight through me, when I felt around I realised it was coming from the same spot as the lump.

I told DH and he freaked and told me to get to the doctors (my grandmother died of breast cancer so he was a bit scared). I didnt bother making an appointment today because the pain had gone. Ive just hopped into bed and it has started again

    Has anyone had anything similar?

Sweetheart, you need to make an appointment with your doctor TOMORROW. It doesn't matter if anyone else has had it and it was or wasn't, what matters is YOU have it and you have a family history of breast cancer. Check it out, better safe than sorry

I agree with Keike. Get thee to a doctor tomorrow!

FWIW, I had a pea sized lump in my boob several years ago. Had to have it ultrasounded and biopsied and all that and it turned out to be just a sebaceous (sp?) cyst between the breast tissue and skin.

Get yourself checked out. It will at the very least put your mind at ease.

Oh Amy, how are you feeling this morning?

The PPs are right, better to go to the Gp and have them tell you it's just a cyst than to stress yourself unnecessarily!

Oh wow Amy I'm so glad you went, and I'm glad you're getting the scan so quickly. Can Mitch come back? Surely his employer would understand?

There is every chance that this is just something completely innocent and they will go away on their own. But I'm glad that you went to your Dr so you can find out for sure

    Thanks girls.

Keike - No unfortunately not He doesnt have any annual leave and they only operate flights out of his site on a Wed and Thurs. I will have the scan on Monday and should get the results on Tuesday or Wednesday so if its anything serious then he will be able to get on a flight.

Oh hun, I'm hoping it's nothing! Mum has had lots of lumps in her boobs over many years and fortunately they were only some cysts with fluid & that's why they hurt. I'll keep my fingers for you for Monday hun & pray it's only harmless cysts

Thanks love, I rang my mum and asked her to go with me but she is working and cant take time off as she does contract work ( one week every 4 weeks). I was going to ask my best friend but she has just had a little bub so it might be a bit hard. I think ill just go on my own.

Sweetie, I really hope that you find someone to go with if you can. I've always gone with mum as she always freaked out poor love and & don't blame her.
