What age or stage of development did you start using a Bumbo?

We bought one for DD2, we borrowed a similar one for DD1 and she loved it, but it was much later that we put her in and she was able to support herself.

DD2 is just over 4 months old/or if we bother about correcting , 3 months. She isn't rolling or trying to yet, but will get there in her own time. Her head control is pretty good, but still "flies" off randomly at times.

Just curious as to when you started using it and for how long at a time.
    TIA xxoo

We started using it for ds2 when he was about 3 months old. He is very strong however and has awesome head control and holds himself really well. He could only really sit in it for a few minutes before getting tired though. You can always pop her in there and see how she goes. You will soon see if she is ready or not.

It was about 4 months here (3 months corrected)... as long as his neck is strong, that's what I waited for

Somewhere between 4 and 5 months here. They are so good, and work well instead of a high chair. My DD can't properly reach the high chair tray but loves her bumbo!!

Somewhere between 3 and 4 months... But DS was a chucker and something about the way it sat him up made him spew even more so we really didn't use it all that much....

It looks as though everyone is trying around this age, I might give her a shot this arvo and see how she goes, I picked up the tray on special as well
    Thankyou fo all your feedback
Miss E ~ DD2 is a very refluxy baby, but has just sterted to prefer to "sit up" for her BF,, so was thinking it might help a bit with it, I guess I will see

Yeah we put dd in at 3.5mths as she had great neck/head control and seemed to like it. You will know if she doesnt look right sitting in it. We also started her a few mins at a time then increased how long she could sit in it ITMS.

I must be the odd one out I think DD was closer to 6 months before we tried.

4 months, after we'd seen the physio about her torticolis and plagiocephaly and they recommended it to get her off her head. She was holding her head up, but not rolling or anything yet. She was in it maybe 10-15 minutes at a time, quite a few times a day (again, physio recommendations).

We didn't end up trying it, because it was a bit of a disaster this afternoon, but I am pulling it our for tomorrow

Thanks for that L, she is getting a small flat spot on the back of her head so I want to get her up a bit more, it is good to know that Moosh wasn't rolling either at the time.

DD was 4.5 mths - she had awesome head control and we could have put her in it earlier but she got it as an xmas present so she had to wait ha ha. We use it as a highchair at the moment so she will sit in it for up to 30 mins, but initially was only 5-10 mins at a time.
    Good luck tomorrow!
