I think it would fall under your home insurance IF you have coverage for storm water flooding.
So, I now live in a waterfront property... Our street is well and truly flooded, thigh deep in the middle of the road and it's still pouring!
Question, the motor for the electric gate is now under water. We turned the power to it off when it began to smoke... It is now completely immersed and not expected to recover. Is it the council's responsibility because the flood is due to blocked drains, the water company because they are responsible for maintaining the drains or our bad luck and hopefully covered by our home insurance??
The houses on the street are all quite high and I don't think the water will reach anyone's home, thankfully. I keep thinking of those poor Queenslanders whose whole home went under water!
