Wink Pineapple juice? accupuncture? IVF egg collection pending. Help??

Hi i've had three unsuccessful IVF attempts under my belt and am getting ready next week for another egg collection.

I took 12 months off after my initial failures and eight million tests to try and get my body back in order and my head back together and have just launched into a round of IVF at Sydney IVF.

I REALLY REALLY want this one to work (sorry if that is stating the bleeding obvious).

Can anyone give me some tips about extra things I can do in the next week leading up to the collection, transfer and dreaded 2WW? What to eat - does pineapple juice really work? Accupuncture? What about clexane?

I would really appreciate any advice or help!!

Hi Kayelle - welcome to Bellybelly

I've been through IVF so I know just how you are feeling - we had 2 egg collections, 2 fresh transfers and it was the 3rd transfer, a frozen one, that got us our little girl.
Can't comment on pineapple juice but I am a big believer in the power of acupuncture - I have used it for stress, insomnia and also all throughout out IVF treatments, including where possible on the day before or day of transfer and after transfer. While I can't specifically state that it was what got us our baby, it definitely helped me feel more relaxed etc which is good during such a stressful thing as IVF.

Regarding clexane, I was on clexane during IVF due to a blood clotting disorder - I am not sure about it's use in patients who do not require it for this purpose. It's not very fun to inject that one (makes you bruise like you wouldn't believe) so best not to take it if you don't need it medically.

I wish you a ton of luck and hopefully you will be posting about your BFP (big fat positive pregnancy test result!) very soon.

In the mean time this forum is full of amazing women who have so much to share, so feel free to ask as many questions as you need

Kayelle, welcome back and goodluck xxx iv tried eating pinnaple core (heard it helps implantation) and iv tried accupuncture and neither worked for me but thats not to say it wont work for you or other ppl because i have heard positive stories about accupuncture. I feel the best thing you can do is TRY and keep your mind off it during the 2ww and TRY keep positve, after 6 transfers i know this is very hard and it seems to get harder the more cycles i do but just do the best you can do and i dont think anything can hurt, its worth a shot at xxxxx

Hi Kayelle, welcome and good luck! I wish I knew the answers to make this work! I haven't had success yet, but with my last transfer I gave my diet a total overhaul - no alcohol (obviously ), no caffeine, nothing processed, full fat dairy, no leftovers and lots of pineapple It ended up being my first ever bfp after 7 attempts. It may have just been a coincidence, but I'm doing the same this time around and hopefully it helps! I haven't used clexane, and acupuncture is on my list of things to try next time around, which hopefully won't happen Hope your collection goes really well next week and you get your bfp very soon!
