    Constant Bruise

My son (2.5) seems to have had a bruise on his lower spine for as long as I can remember, sometimes it's extremely faint and yellow and other times it's got more of a darker tinge to it. It's always there and I have no idea why... any ideas?

What is your heritage? I know some babies of Asian or African descent can have bruise like colouring on their bottoms. There might be other backgrounds where it also common.

My DD2 has a birthmark on her left bum cheek that looks like a dirty mark - like she has dirt on it, but from what you've described it does sound more like a bruise because a birthmark wouldn't change colour like that. I would take him to the Dr to see what it is because it's odd for a bruise to do that.

Just remembered my bub had a vein on her nose that was close to the surface that looked like a bruise for a long time. (might still be there?) Maybe bub just some blood vessels close to the surface? Does colour change with temperature?

I haven't noticed if the heat makes a difference. It's just so strange.
