For a creamy chicken sauce I make a regular roux, then top it up with 3/4 chicken stock, 1/4 cream. Fry off the veggies first, then add the sauce and the chicken and let the meat cook in the sauce. Mmmmm delicious.
Okay I am CRAVING this dish my mum used to make! It's like a creamy chicken casserole served with rice, it's soooo devine! It has mushrooms, carrot, celery, chicken (I think she uses a roast chook) and probs onion and garlic. Not sure how she gets the creamy sauce, whether it's cream, or a roux with some stock, but holy cow it's good!
So what sort of creamy chook recipes do you ladies have that could inspire me?![]()

Mine isn't exactly a creamy one as such but it is the quickest easiest chicken casserole!
We cook some chicken tenderloins (but you can just use chicken breast or whatever!), pop them in a casserole dish, pour a can of Heinz cream of chicken soup over it, and bung it in the oven.
Awesome served with steamed rice and veg, OR boiled chat potatos and veg!
Ha I ended up caving and calling mum! Traveller very similar to yours!
Celery
Carrot
Mushroom
Roast chook
Onion
Garlic
Flour
Butter
Milk
Sour cream or natural yogurt
Tear up roast chook and set aside in a casserole dish. Fry off vegies and layer over chicken. Make a loose roux, then add sour cream or natural yogurt. Season to taste. Pour over chicken and veggies and bake. Serve with rice. Yum!!!
Yum! I cheat and use tin soup, cream chicken and mushroom or something similar.
