All my life - KC & Jojo
What was your wedding song, the song you danced to for the first time as man and wife? DF and I are in love with a song by Tim Minchin, which I know might seem like an odd choice for a wedding.

I know it's about Christmas, but for us the deeper meaning is that it's more about family, togetherness and love. The humour is a little odd but again that's us. Would you think it would be out of place, if you were at a wedding and this was the song played? We love it but I'm still interested in peoples (honest) opinions
Oh, and what was your wedding song?

Ours was Angels by John Farnham

Our Wedding Song was David Gray - This Year's Love.. YouTube - David Gray "This Years Love"
I'm listening to it as I type. Do you know I would rather hear a song like this which is obviously unique and special to the couple than a more commercial "wedding type" song. I think it sounds cute and if I was a guest I would be smiling at how unique it is.
Our songs were "only time" by Enya and "Everlasting Love" by U2 as we are massive U2 fans
Ours was 'i've been loving you' by Otis Redding.
Re your Christmas song - that made me laugh in a good way. And I'm sure your guests who know you will love it! Honestly - it's your day so just do what you want, as it will go by sooooooo fast.![]()
We had my cousin sing our first dance song "When you say nothing at all" by Ronan Keating
ETA: Just listening to your song now, it's sounds beautiful. Ultimately "your" song should be something that means a lot to you.

I'm bawling because Lu would have loved that song so much. I think it's fantastic PZ xx
Our first dance at our wedding was Garth Brooks- shameless.
I fell in love with my DH to that song, and also Garth Brooks- if tomorrow never comes.

Right, just listened to the song and I'm in tears too. That last bit where he's talking to his daughter... Oh, I'm bawling again!
You asked for honesty, and I will be - I don't think it really works well as a wedding song. Maybe the last bit, but not the whole thing. BUT *you* think it does, so it doesn't matter one jot what I think. I was told (ratger rudely) there was no way I should be allowed to include "Another one bites the dust" in our wedding by someone on my bridal forum, and you know what? I'm still getting positive comments about it from people who came! Everyone thought it was hilarious
In short, use the damn song. It's frigging awesome

Aww I'm loving listening to other peoples songs
CaiI'm so glad she would have loved it. I'm just worried I'll bawl too much to dance properly lol!
Thanks TeniYeah the first few very christmasy versus are a bit odd for a wedding, but they make us
and I don't feel like the song doesn't work if it's cut a bit.
Ours was Amazed by Lonestar....one of our favourite songs of all time and describes us perfectly![]()
Ours would have been You're my best friend by Queen as ultimately that is what we wanted to celebrate.
But we didnt want to dance in the end. After the rest of our music didnt work i was feeling a bit disheartened.
Yeah, I thought the same :-/ When I started listening, I didn't realise the entire song would be "Christmassy" so I was thinking some words could be changed to suit a wedding better (with a live singer - sooo probably not good if you're on a budget)

We had two. My Girl (danced to half of it with DH and the other half with my dad) and Do You Love Me from the Dirty Dancing soundtrack. We had dance lessons so we did a funky jive to that one and it was loads of fun. Not overly sentimental but we had sentimental songs during the ceremony to make up for it
We had two David Gray songs throughout the day - This Years Love was one of the several beautiful songs at our ceremony and Sail Away when we were introduced at the reception. That was really fitting as we love sailing (especially DH, sailed all his life) and our reception was at a maritime museum
I walked down the aisle to Dido's 'Thank You'
I love wedding talk!
