    4 year old vax

    Hi,

I am wondering if there has been anyone who has vaccinated their child (not delayed, as per the 'recommended' schedule) then didn't bother doing the 4 yo old ones? I am fence sitting atm - part of me thinks I should do it b/c I have vaccinated my DD and she has had no adverse reactions but then all these issues are coming up & I am thinking of not bothering. Can you delay the 4 yo ones?

My daughter just had her 4 yr needles at the begining of feb, she was 4 in novemeber, they give two needles one in each arm.
My dr says its no biggy if u want to delay by a few months, so i say if u need more time to decide then take the time.
All my kids were delayed vaxed and for no major reasons really.

I'm in the same position, DS was 4 in January and I haven't decided whether to delay or not do it at all...

DD2 never had her 4yo ones. She had pneumonia at the time and it took months to clear so she was already months overdue and I never worried about it. Because they changed how the maternity immunisation payment is processed now, if you don't lodge an official conscientious objection form, you wont be able to receive the last part of the payment which is paid after their 4yo needles.

    Thanks Anila for your reply.

Mel - we can fence sit together cos I am so unsure what to do. I used to be pro vac but BB has opened my eyes and I am also reading one of Dr Kenneths something or rathers book...

Trillian - Do you know how long I can wait til I lodge this form? If DD is sick like she was last year there is NO WAY she is having the vac

You can lodge it anytime as far as I'm aware. Many people don't even lodge one, but it keeps all the paperwork tidy with the immunisation register too so they don't keep sending you reminders.

n2l - Why did you wait til DS was 5 1/2 - was this delayed choice or due to circumstances? (just curious to your thought process)

    Still fence sitting
