Okay, so as the title suggests, I've finally decided that my next goal is going to be a half marathon.

I'm really excited but need some support and motivation, hence the reason I am here.

A little over a year ago I threw myself into a bootcamp to try and get a bit of 'me' back after the birth of my second. It was just what I needed. I got my fitness back and had some much needed time doing something for myself. The bootcamp led to a running group (something I had NEVER been into). We started off running for 30sec and walking for 1 minute. I made it to 5km and participated in the Mothers Day classic last mothers day. From there I set another goal to complete an 11km run (July), and closer to the date I decided that I would be running the entire way. I made it!

Ive participated in a few 10km runs since but more as a support for a friend.

Anyway, last night I sat down with DH and decided that this is what I will be doing, my new goal. To run (all the way) a half marathon as a part of the Sydney Running Festival in September this year.

So has anyone else done one? Or currently in training?

DH has a sports science degree and we nutted out a plan for the next 6 months but I really don't have a running partner that challenges me, so I've kind of got to do it on my own. My running partner is interested at competing the half marathon but doesn't run at my pace.

I don't have the funds to pay to train with someone either....I have all the info at my disposal (DH) just need that support when things are tough.

Love to hear from anyone with long distance running experience.

Nell
