    Baby Shower Cake

    HI Ladies,

I'm baking a choc buttermilk cake with white chocolate icing for a friends baby shower for tomorrow.

It's quite a big task and I really hope I'm up to the job!

    Wish me luck

    I hope so....

It's actually a double layer cake with a large heart and a smaller heart on top.

I have an image in my head, I'm just hoping the end result is somewhat similar! haha

You're not going to believe I TOTALLY forgot to take a pic.

It did turn out really well. It was a beautiful cake, the only disappointing thing was it never got cut at the baby shower

I wish I spoke up for myself more often, but I sat there the whole time thinking, This just cost me $40 in ingredients alone (not to mention the other things I was asked to provide) please don't let it go to waste!

When mostly everyone was gone the host said she'd just a piece for the other person left to take home, a piece for myself to take and they kept the rest (which I'm not fussed about)

I just really was so proud of the cake that took me hours and hours and was absolutely delicious!

Oh well. Lesson learned. I should have said something earlier.. Just seems like a wasted effort!

Thats a shame cause it would have been nice for everyone to have a taste and ooh and aah and compliment you over it.

It's not so much the oohhh and ahhhs that i was after. I just wanted it to be enjoyed for it's purpose seeing as money is a bit tight at the moment as we've just bought a new house and the old one hasn't totally settled yet...
