Getting organised, PAPERWORK!!! *throws hands in the air*

I need some hints for keeping papers in the house under control.

I don't work at the moment except for doing a bit of typing for a family business and a bit of banking for DH's business so I need a desk...

I just wish I could see my desk under the crap on it!!

    Any hints?

a filing cabinet?? We have a system where EVERYTHING (and I mean everything) gets it's own folder, so with tax stuff we have an individual folder each and then the pervious year also has it's own folder.. Even Charlotte has her own folder!

This way we know where everything is and it is neat and organised.

Agree with having a filing cabinet! Ours is in the dining room, lol! In addition we have a family calender and 2 intrays, one for filing one for bills. Best advice I had was to handle as much as you can once - so I mark everything on the calender asap and chuck out irrelevant notices once used. I had piles of stuff hanging around forever!!!

MrsBexie, a filing cabinet, sounds exactly what I need but we don't have room in our tiny house... I could put one in the 'garage' but I know I would never get around to putting papers in there as I can't get out there with the children in tow easily/safely. I like the idea of folders though, hmm, may have to find a way to make it work.

Good idea. I hate my intray full of pieces of paper which are not easily accessible.

Now.. how to get organised enough to actually deal with filing and filling in calenders...
