    Culling clothes??

    Ok, I need help!!!

Not too long ago, I did a clean out of my clothes but not really!! A few things went but not as much as I would have hoped for. Now, my drawers and wardrobe are bursting at the seams again and I want to do a huge cull but I look at something and think, I might wear that again!! But I probably wont end up wearing its just hopeful think you know?
I have a lot of clothes that I bought for work, but I don't work any more so these I will see if my sister wants them so thats not a problem. Its just the other stuff...

So, whats the best way to cull my clothes?!! There are things in there that I bought seasons ago and things that I maybe wore 6 months ago. I know that those items should be easy to be rid of but I still find it difficult...

    lol ...

i cull my clothes and then give the ones i really dont want to vinnies , and the ones i dont think i will wear but might . i keep in a plastic storage bin ..... and if in a while i havent gone through it to find something to wear then they go , mostly to my mum ... so if im desperate , i can get them back off her lol ....

i find that if i keep them in the plastic tub , i know i have sorted them out and probaly wont wear again BUT JIC they are there if i suddenly decide i want to wear it .... most of the time i dont dig through it ... and it all gets donated .

I think it was Onyx that once said, if she hasn't worn it in 6 months she chucks it, I go by that now too.

could you put a time limit on it? i have trouble culling my clothes as well but i went with a strategy of 'if i haven't worn it for x years, then i'm not going to'. i made it 2 years before i was PG. i had things i'd brought back with me from the uk after i lived there & i hadn't worn since i was back - 5 years later!

Except for this year - I have hardly worn aby summer clothes at all! So I go by the 2 season rule - if I haven't worn it this summer or last summer then it goes.

I do this method and to ensure I don't cheat or can't remember - with all the hanging stuff, I hang the hanger the wrong way. After the six months, if it is still hanging the other way then it goes (unless it is a coat - seasonal stuff)

I usually use the 12 month rule, 6 months is too short for me because of the seasons.

But I desperately need to do a shoe cull

The six month rule is crazy, honestly that would be my whole wardrobe, my maternity clothes ( which are expensive too and could always be used later lol ) and I would only be left with my tanker and top drawer some swimmers and shorts and about three dresses....

Never mind the 100 pairs of shoes that i haven't worn in about oh say 5 years now.... I still have stuff i bought at 13.... Coz it still fits

I just cannot part with some things too..... Memories it is time for a cull that's why I'm here but 6 months..... I wish you luck ....

Well the 6 month rule did not go so well!!!
I have gotten rid of some clothes, but still heaps there but its all the new stuff I've bought in the last few months!
I think I should just by some bigger drawers!!

I don't have a shoe problem.. maybe only 5 pairs of shoes and prob only wear 1 or 2 of them the most!
