    Elimination diet/Failsafe foods?

Have you done this? Did it take your kids a while to get used to eating only the things they are allowed to eat? I'm just continuing to offer the foods and nothing else - figure she'll eat when shes hungry.

Havent done the elimination diet as such but followed the general guideines of failsafe/clean/additive free eating etc.

My DD reacts really bad to 160B, and I mean very very bad, we have video footage of her rage and biting and harming herself.

I just took her diet as far back to basics as I could, gave her nothing with additives (the numbers) in it. Her treats are either white marshmallow (not pink) milky way or milky bar, there are heaps of options for additive free eating when you try. cooking from scratch is the best way to know what goes into their food.

Is there anything in particular you are concerned about?

If its additives you are worried about this is DD's list of basic foods. DD's eats pretty much the same snacks everyday, she is not fussy though which is great, she has bega stringers (no additives in them), jatz or savoy, fresh fruit, sun valley 100% dried fruit bars, ajita vege chips (the natural flavour as they dont have 160B) sultanas make sure they dont have additives (sunbeam or IGA) yogurt (jalna) avoid bread with 282. Home made mini savoury muffins or mini banana muffins. Thats all I can think of for now.

let me know if I can help in any way I have the failsafe books and also another great book called low to no additives which is a cook book and I also have fed up with food additives. I am pretty passionate about it because of our personal experience.

    Thanks hun.
I'm wondering if she has issues with salcycilates. So I have taken everything i can find that has it in there... but like I said, am going to basic as far as possible to start off wiht.

Shes really restless and doesn't sleep well at all, she doesn't settle well, and her tantrums are out of control.

oh grapes was a huge huge issue with my DD so bad that we even investigated fructose malabsorption as a problem. She was having grapes before bed every night and would wake up with night terrors, took ages to figure out it went on for 10 weeks or more. I stumbled across the fact that it may be because of grapes, I think I did a google search or something, never ever would I have suspected fruit but I was at my wits end and had to try anything, so we stopped the grapes and the only fruit she was allowed to have was banana. The night terrors stopped and the sleeping went back to normal but the headbutting, biting and aggressive behaviour continued thats when I found out about 160B which is linked to headbutting in kids. If you search belly belly there will be some posts on here about that and about grapes being a problem too. They also contain a natural MSG. You may find that its not salicylates or fruit but just the grapes.

I did that for a while just for myself, it really helped with my anxiety.
