I usually go to the hairdresser and tell them to cut it how they think will suit me. I usually love the result.
So i am FINALLY getting my hair cut tomorrow (read HOURS away no kids no partner) and was wondering whats in... color, cut, length?
I am going to a friend and he is FABULOUS, i can walk in and let him choose and he normally does what suits me, he knows how i wear my hair and what i'm comfortable with but i'm thinking i might ask him to go a little 'bolder' than usual.
FWIW i have quite long brown hair, basically dead straight when down, nto thick but LOTS of hair, really can't be bothered with a straightener or styling it and it's basically ALWAYS in a ponytail.
So i want something easy to maintain, can be swept back for walking/exercise but is new & fresh...
TIPS TIPS TIPS... if any of you are friends with me on FB there are pics of me on there somewhere if you want a gander and to make suggestions
last time my hair was cut was before DD1 so almost 3yrs ago now, had it shoulder length, layered with light brown/blonde half head of foils.

OHH NO! A good hairdresser is hard to find. Are you going to someone you've been to before?
Hehe yeah sorry i meant he moved to Sydney but now he's back, thats why i haven't had my hair cut properly in like 3 yrs... hahahahaha i suck![]()
Beautiful! Are you going to post pics of your fab new hairdo on FB???
Shoulder length with layers framing your face.
As for colour- not sure what you would be happy to maintain, but how about some copper foils?
Ps you were right, I love this thread![]()

Oh HotI thanks hun you've made my night...YOUNG
Will discuss with him Emma.. do you think i should try somethign dif with color or stick with brown and copper/blonde
Depends how daring you are.
I have noticed that you have a lovely RED top, so maybe if you like the colour red, some red foils would look good also or on it's own.
What would look really funky- is chunky foils underneath- bright red.
Then cut your hair- to show off the foils?
Bold, but sneaky at the same time![]()
I definitely think right on your shoulders, more layers and a little bit wispy.
How would you feel about a side fringe?
Did I mention I LOVE hair???![]()

I like red, when i was younger i had my hair colored a deep red/brown.
No go on the fringe... i can't stand a fringe and WAY too much work for me
Like you said last week you've never seen me with my hair out, i AM going to make an effort this time but not sure the fring is the go.
I am willing to go a little 'bolder' than usual aslong as it will look ok.. might tell R to take some risks aslong as he can guarantee it will be SMOKIN for my catch-up with the mayor on thursday![]()
i've gradually cut mine up into a concave bob, and my hair used to be half way down my back. i love it. i can leave it alone and it looks like that on purpose scruffy look, or i can straighten in (takes all of five mins) and it looks smart ( I think so anyway XD)
the back is short, like short short... none of it hangs on my neck and the front is kinda layered around to frame your face. i have a sideways fringe as well... when i had days where i can't be bothered with it, i pin it back or a bit off the side... google it! I wish I'd cut it short yonks ago!
as great as red is, its ALOT of maintenance. I wouldn't go there if you aren't willing to go back to the hair dresser every six weeks at least to have it all re done again. And not only is it a PITA to keep in, but it's the hardest colour to get back out as well, somehow. the copper seems to really cling in there.
good luck! can't wait to see a FB pic![]()
