Question Light headed and tingly hands?

For the last couple of days I've been feeling a little light headed, like a dizzy spell, it only lasts for 30 seconds at a time and has probably happened around 5 times each day.

Today I have tingly hands (only way I can describe it sorry!), they feel swollen but don't look it, sorry that doesn't make much sense!

Does anyone know if this is something I should be worried about or just a normal pregnancy thing? I am 33 weeks.

    Thanks

Hun I think you should get it checked out. I think of you had just one or the other it could be put down to a normal pg symptom but both together sounds iffy.

Being dizzy can be a sign your BP is abit low, are you drinking enough water?

Your hands.. I dont know... maybe abit of carpal tunnel sydrome?

    Whens your next antenatal?

I rang my midwife and she's asked me to come in to the hospital after work to be checked over.

She seems to think it might be stress related (I've been under an enormous amount of stress lately) but wants to me to have a thorough check to be on the safe side.

I'm a bit scared as my hands feel the same way they did the day my blood pressure was through the roof when pregnant with DS and I was admitted to hospital at 36 weeks, but the light headidness seems to point to low blood pressure, not high blood pressure so I'm not so sure.

I'll let you know how I go

the hands could be carpal tunnel. is there one side of the hand that is more tingly?

I was told to watch for light headedness with high BP hun. I wasn't getting headaches or lights in front of my eyes but I got the odd dizzy spell/light headedness I hope all is well!

I'm 34 weeks and I have the same symptoms, along with my feet swelling and heart palpitations (feels like I've just run around the block and I haven't done anything). My blood pressure is steady at around 110/65-120/80 range, so nothing to worry about there, so they sent me to get an ultrasound done of my heart and I had 2 ECG's as well. The conclusion they have come to is that I'm stressed (tho I'm not HUGELY stressed) and I have a heart murmur that's just not always coping properly with the 30% more blood in my system from being pregnant. And the fact all my organs are squished etc etc (normal pregnancy stuff).

I'm already on bed rest for the rest of the pregnancy (have been since 23 weeks due to nasty hernia needing surgery), so they are just telling me to continue to rest as much as possible. (which is completely possible with 3 kids, particularly a 15 month old. Not. )

Good luck with it, tho! Hope it's nothing to worry about.

So I went to the hospital last night, bubs was monitored for half an hour and he is fine.

My midwife has put the dizzy spells down to the extreme stress I've been under the last couple of weeks, and doing too much physically with moving house. My blood pressure is elevated but not at a dangerous level which will require monitoring.

The tingly hands may be related to me being anaemic and the lack of blood flow / oxygen getting to my hands. I had full bloods taken and dependant on the results of this, which I should know at some stage today, I may be looking at having to have an iron transfusion

    Thanks everyone for your replies.
