Just wondering what others think of this naming situation.
*Names have been changed to protect identities* * have swapped girls name for boys name**
Now at DD1's school there is a kid, who's last name is a first name. He is called Billy and his last name is Bob. There is also an actual Billy-bob, along with a Billy.
This is highly confusing for DD1, who is really only fully understanding the meaning of first names, last names, nicknames etc It is confusing to me as an adult and I am sure is confusing to the child who is forever being called their full name, as people assume it is hyphenated.
Now I know it would be a hard last name to deal with, but my logic says not to use a first name that is often hyphenated with it. Am I alone in this? It is the first time I have come across it.
That does sounds silly. Sometimes I wonder what people are thinking when they name there kids. I feel sorry for some of them like the ones you've explained that are getting confused by it
