Video baby monitor

Who has one, what brand is it, whats good/bad about it?

We have a regular baby monitor but DS is such a light sleeper and when we go and check on him he will often wake up, which is a real pain as we want to be able to check on him.

There is one on ebay which looks good but it says that it's on a 2.4ghz frequency and it may interfere with wireless etc. That would suck as we want to get a clear image and clear sound. Does anyone have any experience with one on that frequency?

we don't have a video one so can't help with personal experience sorry - if you google 'product review', that website has a heap of reviews for lots of different stuff, including monitors - maybe the one you're looking at will be there with feedback?

We have one (2.4G), I absolutely couldn't live without it. I was sick of the static on our (expensive) audio one and I was sick of going up and down the stairs to check on DS. The one we have is Samico (the blue and white one), we bought it January 2010 I think and no problems yet (may need to be charged more often just lately). The price was about $120 and we got it on ebay. I don't know why everyone doesn't have one, the sound and picture are great!

Thanks for replying Panda, do you have wireless internet at your house? The one I am thinking of is a black screen on ebay for about the same money but it does say that it can have interference. do you happen to know the brand of yours?

Hi, its Samico but I'm not sure about the wireless sorry - we did have wireless but not at the moment.

Just thought of this - we purchased one prior to the one mentioned above. It had a large screen (7 inch), the picture was okay but there was no sound! Maybe it was a faulty one..the microphone just didn't seem to function properly.

I looked on ebay for the Samico one but I can't find it on there? I am still looking into which one to buy... such a mission! Many of them seem to have problems. But after hearing our neighbours baby on our regular monitor the other day it's convinved us tha twe need a digital one.

No, its not there and yeah there are so many!! A lot of them do look very similar to what we have though.. Good luck!
