    Pimples

Other than drinking more water what can I do to reduce the amount of pimples I get?
    I've been really spotty lately.

I have heard breast milk is great, got a lactating friend nearby?
It did work on my DD sweat pimples.

I don't quite know how to have that conversation... I can't think of anyone who I could hit up for breast-milk in the face.

Do you use any products already? Over scrubbing your face can stimulate it and cause more oil.

That had me laughing so hard! Good thing my office door is shut! I've heard too though that breast milk is good for pimples. Other than that, I don't believe diet makes an ounce of difference, more water seems to and a good skin product, but I don't know of any that work well enough to recommend... so yeah not much help here, sorry!

LOL at the breastmilk... I had a bout of cystic acne a few years back and I used every lotion and potion, even tried prescriptions but the last thing I ended up trying was Witch Hazel and it worked a treat. Buy it from the supermarket for about $6 in the body care section. I still use it if I ever have a breakout or even use it after waxing to stop the rash..

I'd squirt ya if you asked.

Do you have bad skin or just a few breakouts? Do you use anything on your face?

I find i get breakouts if i use a cleanser at all. so i just use water, i think stripping the natural oils out with a harsh cleanser makes my skin produce too much oil. But all skin is different..... so not a cure all solution. My friend who has terrible skin, swears by that pro-active stuff they give a flogging on mid day TV. I've seen in shopping centers of late too.

Usually I just use water on my face and a moisturiser because it feels horrible if I use cleansing products.
I might try the witch hazel. Anything that reduces the rash after waxing has to be worth a try.

It stings like nothing else applying after waxing, but it keeps the pores clean so it doesn't cause the pimply breakout rash. Pitty it doesn't stop the redness though.

I get random large pimples, normally a few at a time and I put baby nappy rash cream on them before bed, helps kill anything that makes them linger.

You could try the Moo Goo products, they are great.
I once went to my GP crying about pimples, it was a 6wks before I was due to get married. He gave me a script for Dianne (contraceptive) and some amazing stuff that I put on my face that took ages for the chemist to mix, it was improved within days and gone by the time I got married. The stuff I got was mixture of something that you put on your face with an applicator like one where you put the shoe polish on your shoes (nugget sqeezy thing). It was pretty drastic, it helped me start from scratch though
Otherwise talk to your GP and get your hormones checked.

    Boo to pimples. Bummer Onyx.

I also went on Dianne for my skin (16 years ago) and it was fantastic. Because my breakouts are hormonal, when I went off it to TTC my skin went absolutely beserk. Those first few months were horrible. I'm now on antibiotics (oral but previously oral and topical) and a buttload of supplements (Vitex seems to have helped the most) and it's much clearer.

Proactiv also works well for me but it's pretty hardcore and not for everyone.

I'm with Kaytee on the diet factor, it's a myth. I recommend vitamins/supplements, a very basic cleanser and moisturiser (like Cetaphil), loads of water, exercise to get the blood flowing and a trip to the doc to suss out hormones if you think it might be the latter. There are some good topical antibiotics they could recommend - or refer you to a dermatologist.

Also...sorry, my thought process is all over the shop today...have you changed your skincare and/or makeup routine recently? Mineral makeup could be worth looking into...anything that won't clog your skin.

Mine has been shocking too hun. Usually I get one big one about every 6 mths and usually pre-menstrually. It will pop up, I will go - oh hi there you are after 6 months or more and then it will go. A few weeks ago a big one came, then went, then 3 more massive ones on my chin - they fade but don't go and ANOTHER one pops up on my nose, so big DH the other morning goes - "Oh hi pimple...I think it's waving hello at me" Ummm thanks DH it was huge though but all I can put it down to is a bit more stress than usual. I might try the witch hazel too because I don't use anything other than moo goo moisturiser on my face at the mo.
Long story, I have no suggestions other than to tell you a long convoluted story about me but my GF swears by that St Ives apricot scrub you can get at the supermarket and her face is always gorgeous.

Oh no I tried for two years to manage my skin by switching to natural products and drinking heaps of water but in the end I caved and it was cleared up by anti biotics and Pro active. I hate using those chemicals but it was getting me down so much. It works quickly which is a bonus!
