Ideas for a Little Miss/Mr Men party

hit me with suggestions for things to do/have as part of a Little Miss and Mr Men party. DD has no particular loves in terms of anything (apart from dirt - and at a winter party, i don't think that is a good one) - so i was thinking of all her character traits to see what fits - and realised she is just like so many of the "Little Miss" books, i wanted that as her theme

so what an we do - decos, food etc

and just for fun - which character is most like you??

    Very cute cupcakes

I saw an awesome cake too, but I'll have to find it again.

I always loved Little miss chatterbox.

I would stick to bright block primary colours.

    *found it*
    these are GORGEOUS!

Tissue pom poms in bright colours!

Me? (Not so) Little Miss Bossy - definitely. And, DD is exactly the same!!!

I reckon a cake would be pretty easy - especially if you choose a square Mr/Little Miss.

I agree with TMS - lots of bright, primary colors.

For decorations (depending on how far you want to go) you could make paper chains/dolls in the shape of a Mr/Little Miss.

    I have also pm-ed you.

    Will keep thinking

Oooh Izzy is deciding on either Tinkerbell or Miss Chatterbox so can't wait to hear all the ideas! I have found so many blogs with the most amazing buffet tables and etsy shops that sell cupcake toppers etc. Don't think I can post here but will pm you when I have a tick!

I always liked Little Miss Sunshine. She would be easy to make as a cupcake

Sorry I don't have any advice but just wanted to say it sounds like an awesome theme!

Oh and although I don't think I'm like her, I always loved Little Miss Splendid

You could make the toppers 2wks before, just use a cutter to make the round shape then make the characters on top. Store them somewhere cool, dark and air tight until the day of the party. Pipe icing on the cuppie and pop the topper on!

i has cheated (cos i can) and ordered cookies with them on it for party loot bag favours!
will be getting some edible icing pics that a friend found for cupcakes tonight

so my creative energies can be put entirely into her main cake - need to make some bits and pieces to go on it and then work out how to make a fail safe cake... can't be too hard for a non-baker can it?? lol

If I am making fancy pants cakes from now on BG I am either going to buy a sponge vanilla cake to carve up or else apparently the vanilla white wings or greens ones are awesome and easy. I have fluffed around in the past making a perfect cake but now I just don't care - it can be a mix if I am going to spend hours decorating! I just don't need the addd angst haha!

i had it suggested that working with softer cakes makes icing them harder...

Yeah it does because they crumble. There is a thread around somewhere but I think from memory Madeira cake is good for carving up and one of the packet mud mixes maybe?! Can't look now am on my phone!

will have to find some more info about the cake - i'm hoping to make a practice cake this weekend (if i can find a failsafe mudcake recipe lol).

Nicole - i have scoped out Ebay - i can't believe how much of it has the Mr Men SHOW on it - not interested in that stuff - lol

i have come up with a few ideas so far

    decoration wise -

colored balloons, may find a little miss helium balloon, have some linkaloons as well. may try and get some "2" balloons as well
enlarged photos of Miss E with Little Miss titles - like LM Giggles, LM Trouble (and instead of Roger Hargreaves under the title, i'll put Mummy and Daddy)
window art Little Miss and Mr Men characters - i have the paints here - just need to enlarge pics to paint them.

    loot bag/box

found a site that does little boxes (similar to happy meal box) in plain colors - thought i'd use them as the boxes, and put a tag on with Little Miss [insert name] or Mr [name] with a pic of a little miss or mr men on it
have arranged little miss/mr men cookies
have seen some little miss stationery stuff (nothing like that for the boys though - will have think on that one a bit more)
    popcorn or chips
    chuppa chups
    something small chocolate wise

    Invitation
will have a photo and a few different little miss characters on it

    cake
i have big ideas - no idea if it will work, so until i've practiced, i'm not saying anything!

HERE is a version of the invite - background colorway is still in discussion - DH is leaning towards this one, i'm leaning towards a bolder gradient. Friends that have seen it are 50/50 split lol

Love the invite - I like the softer colours! For loot bags - a Mr Men/Little Miss book?
