DD is on zantac, 2mls in the morning and 2mls at night... she has just gone up a dose cause her reflux has been playing up!! It definitely helped going on zantac however the colic still made her scream after feeds sometimes so I am using Weleda colic powder and it is awesome stuff!!!
I have tried gripe water, infants friend and brauers colic liquid but nothing works like the Weleda... just 1/4 teaspoon of powder in 1tsp boiling water, let it cool and syringe it into their mouths. It is homeopathic so completely safe for them to take and you can give up to 6 doses... I have never needed more than 3 to calm her down and that's if it's really bad.
Totally sucks hey?? Have you also tried maybe cutting out dairy? My DD reacts badly to dairy and wheat so I have had to cut out both. If I have even the smallest amount of dairy it completely sets her off!
My DD1 had both yes. Was a relief for all of us to work it out. The day we started her on Infacol, she slept through the night, and has since. She was such a happier baby. We also put her on AR formula and same thing. Poor little thing having to go through that. But at least you worked it out and there are things you can give her to make her feel better.
You are not alone hun, Most babies with reflux have colic too the paed told me. My DD is 17 months and is still on losec, though is much better than she was. I really hope your bub grows out of it much faster than mine!
My DD2 had colic and silent reflux. She was on zantac for over 18 months as it took that long for it to go away. We also used to lay her over our knees and play the bongos on her back. This seemed to help bring up the last little bubbles of air in her tummy, also rub around her tailbone (with some oil) for a few minutes a few times a day. This stimulates the bowels and also helps relieve their little tummies as well (old clinic sister suggested this to me and it works) by making them break wind (how polite lol)
You are definitely not alone in having a DD with this. It nearly drove us mad until she was diagnosed.
