when i had it with DS, it didn't bring on labour and i felt soo uncomfortable afterwards. i know of some people that had 3 or 4 before any thing happened but FX that things start happening for you
I had a S and S today and was wondering what others experiences were.
Did it bring on labour i have had pains ever since they did it. I didnt even request it she just did it and i actually asked her if thats what she had just done wasnt great communication between us Grrr it was quiet annoying i hadnt seen her before

I had one at 41 + 3 with DD1 and it didn't do anything.
My first one at 41 didn't seem to do anything at the time, I bled a little, but I think that was cervix tenderness.
I had another one at 41+4 and 12 hours later I was in active labour.
By the time I had my second one I was already 3cms dilated, so perhaps the first one did something after all? I remember both being painful, and the first I didn't know that was what was going to happen, I just thought she was doing a check of the cervix.
Good luck, it'll be soon!! xxx
i was already 2cm today and induction booked for wed
I had one on Monday and afterwards I had painful BH and the day after I lost my plug but otherthan that I'm still waiting
I've had 2.
With Ds1 I had one and within 4 hours I had mild contractions and my waters were leaking.
With Ds 2 I had one on the MOnday, experienced cramping for rest of that day and into Tuesday, early hours of Wednesday morning Contractions started and my little man was born early Wed Aft.
I think to some degree it does depend on each individual. I hope it works for you so you can avoid the induction.

i've felt horrable all afternoon and had constant pains
i'm sorry that happened to you. she should have asked if you wanted it, and explained what she was going to do, and what the effects might be.
I hope your bubba comes soon. Remember that you have the right to refuse any treatments, or ask for extra clarification of what is going to happen before going ahead with it.
i was told that it was just a internal to see progress so agreed
I requested mine I didn't think it was that painful :/ I hope it works for you![]()
also did babies movements increase after my lil man hasnt stopped since it was done
That's really rude to do it without asking. Even if you did agree to an internal.
I had one and labour started about 24 hours later. It will only work if you're close to starting on your own - hope it's soon for you
Absolutely, consenting to an internal doesn't mean consenting to a S & S.
I had one with ds that resulted in pains but didn't bring on labour. Works for some not for others. I hope it works for you though. As for movement I don't think I noticed a change but ds was a wriggler all the time and still is. All the best for your upcoming birth
i had one on the 16th dec around 11am, i had constant period like pains and bloody mucus right up until midnight 17th dec then i really started getting contractions phoned my midwife at 1am got to the hospital by 2am and had my bub at 4:23am on the 18th!!
It worked for me i wasnt even quite 37 weeks but i was also 3cm dialated when she did it
i agree how rude of her they should have asked you if they could do that, my midwife did it and asked first to try and stop me from being induced on the following monday which worked for me!
Goodluck and hope it works for you
just another quick question I probably shouldnt google but i did today and have read multiple times if you are GBS+ then you shouldnt have a s and s done anyone else had this told to them google is bad![]()
