HELP- rash on 11 month old- tiny red spots

my 11 month old DD has rash on her face, arms, legs, torso.

they are tiny red faint dots, not raised at all.

she doesn't seem sick but has been bit quiet.

    any ideas?

thinking about going out but but not if it could be something contagious.

Poor little thing I'd say there's every chance it could be contageous. They can get rashes for all sorts of things, there's every possibility it's her reaction to a virus or something so i'd probably be cautious until you've had it checked out. Does she have a temp at all?

Nah, just checked her underarm temp and it was 36.4*C.

    Roseola/6th disease.
Has she recently had a temp/been irritable?
If you push on her skin, do the spots disapear for an instant?
Its probably something viral and she is most likely past contagion, the rash is normally the end result of the virus.

My kids have a similar thing - they have hand, foot and mouth. Ds got it from daycare and he has spots on his hands, feet an ulcers in his mouth and a temp. DD obviouslt got it from him and she has heaps more spots but they arent just on the hands and feet, they are up her legs and in her nappy area and on her arms too. Its viral and contageous. Its sunday so probaby no chance of seeing a dr but your pharmasist should be able to tell you what its most likely to be. If it is HF&M then no treatment is necessary

I took DD to an after hours clinic and the dr ruled out all the common kids diseases, he thinks it is most probably a heat rash or possibly a virus but nothing to worry about.

When you pushed on the skin the rash disappeared and then came back again. Her temp and everything else was fine.

    Thanks

Glad she's ok, and I bet you feel reassured for having had her checked out.

Sounds a lot like the viral rash Sam gets. There can be some weird viruses around which don't really have much in the way of obvious symptoms, just make you feel drained and tired.

THe rash has really come up this afternoon and is all over her face. It was quite faint this morning. She is a bit cranky- not sure if this causing the rash (if it is a heat thing) or if it cause the rash (or something else) is making her not feel too well.

Anything i can do to make her feel better?
