I didnt want to say anything sooner cause i was scared it would all fall through and jinx it. but..
we have exchanged, and there is a sold sticker on the sign out the front =D
YAY!! for owning something, YAY!! for no more leasing and dealing with crap from realestates and YAY!! for us being about to do what we want, when we want YAY!! for being able to fix stuff properly how we want to do it, rather than waiting weeks, for their quick shortterm fixes =D =D =D
=)
few things though..everyone says you have to 10% deposit saved, but they dont mention all the other stuff, like paying for building and pest inspections, stamp duty, solicitor fees, etc.. so you really need to save more!
was kind of crazy not knowing the process, and being the middle person for 3 different parties (bank/mortgage lender, realestate, solicitor) but think its worked out =)
Congratulations!!! It's an awesome feeling. We just became home owners after selling our unit and we couldn't be happier! Enjoy the freedom and put a few picture hooks in your walls (just because you can!) x
Oh can I ask a question?? In your state, did you have to pay a $1000 or so fee to register your house with the department of environment? I was shocked at this considering no-one has been able to tell me exactly what I got for that money!
thanks everyone,
No Kimmi, i've never heard of that ever! and no one has mentioned it to me! (im hoping thats not something they are going to spring on us later!)
yea, stampduty is the real kicker, as DH has owned a house before we dont get the first home buyers, which sucks...but also meant full stamp duty
