Electric Pressure / Rice / Slow Cooker all in One !

Having just seen these in a catalogue last night, I think I want one!

I have a huge (nine litre!) pressure cooker for the stove, but wouldn't mind another one (shh :shh:, don't tell the Man! ), and my slow cooker doesn't seem to work. And who doesn't need a rice cooker? Well, okay, I probably don't because I have learned how to cook by absorption on the stove (yay me! lol), and I have a microwave cooker at work.

Shall I ask for one from the Mother's Day gift fairies? After all, I don't see it as bad to receive something like that as a gift, I'm cooking for them afterall! I'm working (hard!) on getting a meal plan together, and I think a properly functioning slow cooker would be a good thing, and cookers that I can (basically) walk away from.

I just had a look, at $159 it's not badly priced. I cook meals in my slow cooker and then cook rice to go with it in the rice cooker so I don't know that it'd be good for me. I like the pressure cooker option though.

Five in one? Wow! This one, I've got the catalogue in front of me, is BigW, sale starting tomorrow (17th March). It's Abode brand, 6 litres in size, for $68 ! It says three in one. I looked for it in their online shopping, but couldn't find it.

Where did you see the one for $159 Tinks? What size was it?

I've not seen them before, so will have to do some googling I think!

    It's 5litre, 5 in one.

Google new wave kitchen appliances, it's the 1st link.

I'm seriously not trying to rain on the parade, but check out some reviews on it Netix, Adobe sometimes gets a bad rap. Having never owned an adobe product I can't speak from experience, but I'm review addict and my ears (eyes?) always perk up when people mention that brand!

If it all looks good, I'd be asking for it!!!! I'm sure the mother's day fairies will be able to carry it?!

No, that's ok Krystals. I've never even heard of the brand myself. And so, am a bit dubious. It was appealling because also of its size.

Netix, did you end up buying one?
Does anyone own one? It sounds tempting since DH wants a pressure cooker but TBH I'm always suspiscious(sp?) of things that claim to be able to do it all.

My sister bought the New Wave 5in1 about 12 months ago, mainly for the slow cookeer and pressure cooker abilities, sonce she already had a rice cooker whoich they used all the time. She loves it, uses it several times a week at least, and it's done everything it claims to do for her.

I bought the New Wave one, and I use it a few times a week. I probably do rice in it twice a week and use the pressure cooker and the slow cooker at least once a week. I love the fact that it has a timer, so if I'm doing a vege curry I can pop everything in the morning and then delay the start for a few hours and then do the slow cook so when I get home 9 hours later its not ruined. I have used the pressure cooking the most and love it. I did a vege mix in it the other day in 10 minutes and made homemade curry puffs and samosas.... noms

I found one at Victoria's Basement for $128 so DH is picking it up.
Now I'm wondering if I need a bread maker.
Or maybe an extension to store all my appliances in.

Sounds awesome. Our slow cooker conveniently just died, and this is about our budget

I don't know how much ours cost, being a gift, I have it on good authority that I wouldn't have bought one with our budget, though! We have a slow cooker/steamer/rice cooker, we now we have the rice cooker/pressure cooker, but also have this fabulous wood stove now, so don't really use the slow cooker anymore...might have to rehome the Tefal slow-cooker (got it on credit card award points, such a score!), because we don't have room in our cabin-size shed house for too many gadgets, and already have a breadmaker to house!

No, I never ended up getting one Onyx. Budget and space constraints the main thing, and I pretty happy with my great big stove top cast aluminium pc. Which i must admit, i dont know if i still own or has disappeared from my life forever (weep). But that is a whole other story. I will post on your other pc thread tomorrow if I can.
