    Not going to Japan now

For obvious reasons we have cancelled our trip to Japan. We were supposed to go next week and have been planning this for months. In our 9 or so years together we have never had a real holiday and have always wanted to go to Japan. So I am very sad. Having said that it is obviously nothing compared to what people are going through over there. A friend of mine was in ***ushima and evacuated to Tokyo with her bub and husband, and areas over there are just so so devastated. I can't keep my eyes off the news, and hoping against hope that the situation there won't deteriorate even further.
So I am venting for me, and VENTING for Japan.

I'm sorry that you have to miss your holiday.
I hope you can get refunds or postponements on your tickets and so on.

Actually we have been really lucky as Jetstar have refunded our money even thought they didn't have to. Our travel insurance would not cover it as according to them it is our choice not to go! I was just reading the news about what has been happening overnight. It is so so terrible. Actually one of the hotels I was staying with more down near Osaka said even there they are having food shortages.
