The Big Two

Today is my DD's second birthday which means we have reached two years breastfeeding! It wasn't always easy, I didn't always enjoy it but we got here in the end. Don't think we will be setting anymore goals, each day from here is a bonus, it just feels great to have got this far! Thanks to everyone around the forum for all your stories, advice and support... It isn't even midday and I'm getting the 'well she is 2 now, time to knock it on the head' which just makes me laugh, fine one day but not the next? I can't believe how passionate I've become; keep talking about breastfeeding everyone and never allow anyone to make you feel ashamed, you're doing such a brilliant job!

Well done sweets, 2 years is such a great effort. I hear you on the push to wean we're starting to get pressure and DD is only 16months. I don't know about you but I find the most pressure comes from people who just want to babysit DD and they can't because her only BF's are to sleep so no slumber parties at grannies just yet (not that I think this is a great idea before DD is old enough to understand whats really happening).

Most of my friends are behind us in terms of baby age and so I am kinda setting the "norm" in my social circle. Those that are older have MORE than supportive!

Its nice to be able to have an extended BF relationship well done again

Congrats on 2 yrs BF!! It seems strange to me too that people think all of a sudden bc they're a certain age it's not ok anymore. It's not like she all of a sudden changed the day she turned two!!
