    Asthma

Hi, my DD has just been diagnosed with Asthma today. She had an attack that landed us in the hosp last friday night and we saw our paed today. We have an asthma plan now for when she gets sick for ventolin and redipred if it gets bad.

Could you tell me, if your kids have asthma did they grow out of it and what age?
How often do your children have asthma that warrents medical attention?
    Any tips????

that would have been so scary, hope she's feeling better now. DD9 is growing out of her asthma, as a baby she was in hospital 3 times and had it quite bad until she was about 5. Now she really only gets it in Winter if she gets a cold or sometimes when playing sport.

    Regards,
    Dianne

DD was diagnosed at around 18 months. She's now 5 and hasn't needed any medication or had an attack in over 12 months.

It's very scary when they have first attack

My two DSs, now 7 and 5, both have moderate to severe asthma. My youngest DS was diagnosed at four months old... We end up in the hospital at least three times a year with asthma attacks. My youngest DS was on Redipred just this week.

I'm also asthmatic, and I'm in my (cough) thirties... I still regularly take ventolin and a preventer.
