    From a cot to a bed!

    What age was your child?
    DD1 was 18 months in preperation for DD2's arrival,
    DD2 was about 19 months coz her cot broke and we thought there wasnt alot of point getting a new one as we hadnt planned on anymore babies
    DS is 2 on the 2nd of next month and still in his cot, not even close to being ready to get out of it, he loves it in there, try putting him in a bed and he screams!
    He also still has a dummy & a bottle and STILL isnt sleeping through the night!

    Hi RD,

    My DD is 2.5yo (3 in August) and she is still in her cot!
    I was stressing about it for awhile because alot of my friends with kiddies the same ages are in toddler beds already but I spoke with my Dr and he assured me that if I have no reason to move her (e.g. she is not getting too big or trying to climb out) then just leave her so that is what I'm doing.

    My DD still has her dummy during sleeps and yes she still has a bottle also which I've tried to get rid of with very little success.. Having said that though DD does sleep through from about 7.30pm till about 8.30am (she loves her sleep).. She also has a day sleep of about 2-2.5 hrs and that is also in her cot.

    DDdoes sleep in a stretcher bed at day care 2 days a week but only gets about 1hr or so at day care.
    Not sure what to suggest regarding sleeping through as I haven't really had a problem with that, DD has slept through since about 5 months old.

    Good luck..

    Rd;

    can your cot be turned into a kinderbed or something similar? That may help?

    But to answer your question; DD1 went into a single bed when she was 14mnths. We were meant to be moving so everything was packed up. Didnt end up moving so instead of setting up the cot again, thought we should try the bed... And she loved it.
    DD2 is still in her cot, and at this stage we plan on keeping her there for a while longer. But we plan on turning it into a kinder bed soon and we'll go from there!
