Normal night sleeping for a 6 month old?

    Hi everyone,

Chloe is 6 months old and she is my first bub so I am not sure whether it is normal for her to be waking 2-3 times every night. She goes to bed 6:30-7 then wakes 12 am - 3 am - 6 am. Sometimes its 11 - 2:30 - 5:30 - then 7am. She feeds each time she wakes.

She has started solids and feeds and sleeps well during the day (total 3.5 hrs sleep during the day).

Is this normal? Should I be trying to re-settle her (or get DH to)?

Thanks in advance for your advice x

Sounds perfect to me. Proably take you longer to resettle her than just to feed her for her to go back to sleep. Are you still BFing? She could be doing it for comfort. But if its not bothering you, just go with it. She will sleep through eventuallly trust me your doing a great job!

    Hi there,

My 8mth old is waking more than that at night

Seriously, if it is a problem for you, you could try night weaning - where you gradually stop feeding overnight. It's hard though - you have to resettle overnight without feeding and it can be really tough until they get used to it.

But if it's not a problem, as MM said just go with it!

My 14 month old wakes more than that, too. She sounds totally normal!

She sounds like a pretty good sleeper.
I think something like 2/3 of 6-month olds wake at least once for a feed during the night.

Thanks so much guys - for the reassurance. I will still envy my friends with sleeping-through bubs but I am happy it is totally normal
