Flu shot? What do you think?

Hiya ladies,

Just wondering whether or not to get the flu shot? I'm all for natural immunity and never had one before but wanna know your thoughts and if you have had it during pregnancy? Did you get sick once you had it?

I just got it recently b/c I have been very unwell the past 12 months on & off with colds/head/chest etc.... and then passing it onto my DD. I never get sick when I get the flu shot - I get no side effects except for a sore arm where the jab went in. My OBS told me it was safe to get a flu shot when pg but I didn't as well as the company who my work gets to do it won't do pg women (don't know why).

Have you gotten one before? I would think your reaction would be the same except I know that the H1N1 (?) is now included in the flu shot. Perhaps it is best to speak to nurse on call or you healthcare provider.

I spoke to my Dr about getting mine and she recommended that I do - apparently getting the flu especially H1N1 has a high risk of complications for pregnant women. Arm hurt for a day or 2 and that was about it really - no problematic side effects and even though I was in first trimester bubs is fine
