    I think it's 38, as normal temp is 36.5 - 37.5

Oh thanks Danielle I'm just concerned my dd hasn't been well the last couple days and last night her fever hit 43 I cooled her down alot but she is now 37.8 and is very drowsy I don't know what to do..
She is all red around the eyes and when you move her around she just cries..
It's been like this for 3 days now and the dr said it's probably just a virus but she isn't coughing vomiting or anything..

Honey I would take her to the hospital or can you get a DR to do a house call.

The drowsyness sounds concerning and the prolonged fever.

Doesn't sound good at all... 43 degrees can cause seizers, anything over 39 can

I'd get bub looked at again... Frantelle is right... the drowsiness is not cool

Well I'm home and let's just say what a bunch of knob those people are!!
First I was asked what made me think my dd had a fever? Hello it was 39.8 when I got there!!
Then like i was meant to know this but apparently no number is too high in a fever???
Dd was seen and sent home and told to go to the gp??

??? Wow, that sounds really weird. I'm guessing they checked her ears, and throat?
It could be a virus, my DS2 was 12 mths when he had a high temp, no other symptoms & came down with gastro a few days later.. we've had a few episodes like that... I think you did right getting her checked anyway.
I know what temp my kids usually run at around 36.5), I would class anything over 37 a temp and over 38 gets a trip to the doctor.

    Hope she's better soon

wow, that is weird. did you tell them that it was a persistent fever and that she was drowsy? that is so crap that they made you feel bad and like you were over-reacting

i also recommend giving nurse on call a ring. i found them awesome when DD1 was having a severe allergic reaction last year.
