just wondering what awesome, cute, inspiring things you are all making at the moment!
i just made a small pillow for my pregnant friend, for the small of her back. and now her friend wants one. but, not sure what to make next! still very much a beginner!
Funny you should post this, I was just thinking this morning that I am hanging to get my machines out! Now that the weather is getting colder I think I will make DD a jacket - I have the Make it Perfect Uptown Girl jacket pattern, just need to find the perfect fabric!
I'm a beginner here too but really loving having a play.... I've recently made some Softies as gifts and i've got a gorgeous cord material and i want to get to spotlight to pick up a patter for it. Waiting for DH to come home...
I don't have my own machine but my mum is staying with me at the moment so i'm able to use her supplies, books, materials & machine
Aha! just the inspiration I need.
Tan let us know how you find that pattern. Now they have upsized it for bigger girls (cos my 4yo needs a size7 for arm and body length) I want to make one for her with a fleece on one side.
oops me. I'm going to pull apart two bathrobes the ILs gave DH and I a couple of years ago and make some coverups for the kids at swimming lessons.
I'm making the boys some flannelette pj's for winter and some shorts. Also making some curtains with blockout lining, not quite so exciting but still fun! When that's all done I'll have to think about my next project. I wish I had an overlocker though, makes the finish look much better.
some little ratbag screwed up all the setting on my OLer and then God bless him, moved the stickers, so I have no idea what should be where must get around to having it serviced.
Kim I have made it in old sheets as a trial ages ago - the pattern is great, it is the type of pattern that will fit forever. I think when I made it for her initially she was around 2 and I made the size 3 and it still fits her now (pity it is made of old nana sheets!) pattern was easy as to make and follow, now I just need to find the perfect fabric. I was reading on her blog that the one she made recently she used quilt batting in between to make it really warm. Fleece is a great idea too!
Just came across THESE, we have a serious dino obsession here right now so might have to make them and then some simplified versions for DS's party in October for party favours (Yes I plan ahead )
I'm more of a cross stitch person - love sewing and have got right into patchwork in the past but have never had my own machine - always had to borrow mums - until she wants it back :-( lol
So cross stitch it is! I actually just ordered one off eBay yesterday that DD picked out for her wall. It's a woman reading in an English garden - which I got because I preferred it so much over the kind I thought she was going to pick lol
I've been making ruffled nappy covers for little girls to sell at the markets in 2 weeks! I just bought my first sewing machine and I am loving it!!!
I am going to start on some smock style dresses and maybe a little girls bolero too now it's getting a bit cold...
I'm making hoodies for my little man out of old tshirts- I'm such a beginner, but we live in the middle of nowhere so no one's going to see them, they'll keep him warm AND it's terrific practice! Also making little pants and things, trying to get rid of all our old stuff and make it new again!
Mrs Bexie would love to hear how you go at the markets!!!
