Question 3 yr old boy obsessed with his doodle

Ok so i know its totally normal for little boys to play with themselves, thats not my concern at all.

He is always taking his clothes off, i can never keep him dressed, and when he is on the lounge he is always playing with his doodle, that he gives him selves erections, way to many to count, again that isnt as much as a concern of mine

What is my major concern is that he is starting to pull his foreskin back, and i noticed that around the tip his doodle is getting red.

Im always telling him to leave it alone, my older son never had this facination, so its all new to me, and im worried that if he keeps playing with it he might give himself an infection, especially as he always has dirty hands from playing outside. He pulls it and squeezes it, looks at it, and when he gets an erection tells me he poptited it!

Has anyone else been through this?
    Any suggestions?

My nearly 3 yr old currently has a forskin infection and GP was saying common in this age group for reason of playing with it and who knows where hands have been.

yup, been threw it with both boys! still have to tell them ocasionaly to leave it alone, but not as often. (there now 5 and almost 4)
it would drive me mad constantly telling them to leave it alone! Df started telling them if they keep playing with it, the birds will eat it thinking its a worm no idea were he got that one from, but it seemed to work! (even tho we dont have any birds!)
    good luck!

My second son went through this too. If he complains of it being sore, or it gets overly red, then take him to the GP who can prescribe some cream for him. For my son getting a small infection in his penis was enough to stop his obsession a little bit.

    Thanks Girls
Feeb, did the dr give u any ideas on how to stop it?

Sarah, wish that would work for me, when i tell him to stop, or say anything to him, he tells me NO, and he keeps going for gold!

Trav, sorry missed ur post before, so u couldnt get him to stop either before he got the infection?

He said just keep telling him no, but also not to much to make him think he can never touch it as could cause issues later in life if told young he can't touch it.
He came me ointment that is normally used for ears that is a cortisone and antibiotic cream.

Thanks feeb, that was also a concern that if i kept telling him no, it might be an issue later.
I guess i just keep trying and find him a new obsession lol

I have told my sons they are allowed to touch it, if they are alone in their room, and wash their hands before and after.
They are at that inquisitive age.

My 4th is the same. I too say I. Your room and wash your hands as I too don't want him to g
Think that it is something really wrong. But I do spend a lot of time telling him to leave it alone still.

My DS likes being nekkid & notices his erections etc, but he isn't too bad. He hasn't even tried retracting his foreskin.

His best mate is shocking though. He can already get his foreskin right back & never lets go unless he's dressed! He runs with it in his hand
He has been a bit red a few times, but no infections yet.

    wish I could help!

Ahh boys and their toys :P

The tip will probably be red as his foreskin will still be attached to the head/shaft I believe it will eventually retract on its own so make sure you dont force it as this can cause pain and infection.....I like MN idea let him play and explore but always wash his hands and do it privately......my DS often strips off and sits watching tv palying with it we just ask him nicely to stop playing with it and if he wants to keep exploring go into his room. Good luck x
