    Japanese exchange student

We pick our exchange student up in an 1 1/2...it is very exciting.
It may be a little squishy with 9 of us in the house...but what is one more
I am looking forward to it and I think it would be a really good cultural experience for all involved.
I am not sure if she has seen a family with our demographics...so it may be a bit different for her.
But she is here to experience 'normal' Australian life, culture and food.
Not sure if my family is 'normal but she will be made to feel welcome.
She is here for a week.

we had one too when I was in year 8 and I loved it! It was so fun!!!

We bought her like a little aussie giftpack thingy that had vegemite, a soft kangaroo, one of those little mini roadsign looking things with a dunny on it and some other Aussie stuff, she loved it!!!

It helps to have a japanese/australian dictionaries!

You are going to have soo much fun!

She is very sweet...she is 16 nearly 17
She was very surprised when she got her itinerary and saw the size of our family
She brought gifts with her...lots of hello kitty for the girls...so there are stickers every where
They have even made it onto my lappy ;P
It helps to have a japanese/australian dictionaries!
She has a electronic translator which has proved to be very handy all ready. My dd1 (16) is introducing her to facebook
Is she doing exchange thru the school?
Yes through my kids high school.
I think it is a wonderful thing to participate in.

We hosted a Japanese teacher for a year, she was 22. It was a fantastic experience! If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Have a great time with her!

We hosted a Japanese uni student for a month a year ago. She was lovely and it was a great expereience but after 2 weeks I wanted my house back and she started to get confident enough to complain about my cooking! LOL!
