Cycles after having an IUD

Finally got dh to agree to ttc later this year!

I have an IUD at the moment, just curious how long it took others to get back to regular cycles after taking it out.

I'd ask how long it took you to get pregnant but obviously everyone is different.

I've always had trouble with my cycles, they tend to range from 38-55 days so it can be hard for me to work out when I'm o'ing.

Is it better to take it out now,do you think?

I have just had my mirena taken out on February 2nd. My bleeding then went like this:
5th Feb - heavy bleeding
6 - 7th - nothing
8th - heavy bleeding
Next 7 days - spotted
I had a reprieve from bleeding spotting for four days.
I then had one day of heavy bleeding and one day of spotting.
10 days off and then I had the heaviest period I've ever had and that lasted for 7 days!! I was soaking a pad and tampon every 2 hours!! It was horrible. Don't mean to scare you but apparently that can be common just after you have your mirena removed.
It seems that my cycle has normalised and I o'ed on CD14 and I'm having a 28 day cycle.

My FS told me that mirena's are great because we return to our normal cycle/fertility quickly.
